Wedding Candles

When it comes to your wedding day, every bride knows that the devil is in the detail. But, if after months of checking, and then rechecking, your to-do-lists, you are still looking for something to ensure your wedding has a relaxing and pleasant aroma to complement your happiness, look no further than the scented candle! There are lots you can do with these fragranced beauties… here are a few ideas to get you started!

Avoid an epidemic

Ok so you had a “few” drinks the night before to calm those pre-wedding nerves and your hangover is unforgiving. Your mother is critiquing the hairdresser, your makeup still isn’t done, the flower girl is refusing to get dressed and you are a bridesmaid down! Do not panic! Find an unoccupied room, pop a scented candle, something with meditative Frankincense or soothing Lavender, into a candle holder and take 5 to sit back and relax.

Keep up with the Kardashians

Never mind keeping up with the Jones, these days it’s all about keeping up with the Kardashians! At Kim’s recent wedding, guests were presented with a scented candle as a wedding favour. Using scented candles as wedding favours is a simple, cost effective way to say thank you to all those who put up with the tears (and occasional tantrums) in the run up to the big day. Simply pop scented candles in chiffon bags and present them to your guests.

Accessorise, Accessorise, Accessorise

When used in the right way, candles can make a great wedding accessory. Why not illuminate the aisle with pillar wedding candles, making sure that they are kept a safe distance from the brides dress… and the bridesmaids’ hair!  Or if a smaller isle makes this difficult, place sampler candles in glass tumblers or buckets instead for a safer way to accessorise the isle. These can also be used to decorate evening parties so you can have your first dance by candlelight!

Another idea is to use them as centerpieces for your tables. Lightly scented fragrances such as pine and nutmeg notes create an inviting ambiance without overpowering the meal, or emitting a plastic aroma like some unscented candles. Try floating tealight candles in a bowl of water with some flowers on each table or reception hall for a touch of class.

Whatever you decide to do with them, scented candles can make a great addition to your wedding. Leading candle retailers Yankee Candle has been producing scents for over 30 years, which includes their wedding range, so you can easily relive these memories until your ruby wedding anniversary and beyond!
